You’re an independent delivery contractor using GigSafe, and you’ve decided to work in a different city.
Maybe you’re relocating permanently, moving closer to family, or simply interested in assignments in another delivery area.
You open the GigSafe Contractor Portal expecting to find a setting for your preferred city, region, or delivery market.
But there’s no option to change it.
This isn’t necessarily a technical problem.
GigSafe doesn’t allow contractors to change their assigned delivery market directly through the Contractor Portal.
The company providing your work opportunities controls that information.
Your Delivery Market Is Managed by the Partner Company
GigSafe helps delivery and logistics companies manage independent contractors, onboarding requirements, and compliance information.
However, the platform doesn’t independently determine where every contractor is authorized to work.
According to GigSafe’s official support documentation, changing the market or area where you’re contracted to complete work must be handled directly by your partner company.
That means contacting GigSafe support isn’t necessarily the correct way to request a new delivery region.
The organization you’re contracted with needs to handle the request.
You Can’t View Your Assigned Market in the Portal
This is another important limitation.
GigSafe states that the region or market associated with your contractor account isn’t visible in the Contractor Portal.
Only the partner company can see and confirm which region you’re contracted to.
As a result, you may not be able to independently verify whether a requested market change has been completed.
If you’re unsure which area is currently assigned to you, contact your contracting company.
Don’t assume that the city displayed elsewhere in your profile represents your official delivery market.
Your Home Address and Delivery Market Are Different
Changing your residential address doesn’t automatically change where you’re contracted to work.
For example:
Home address: Houston, Texas
Current delivery market: Beaumont, Texas
Requested delivery market: Houston, Texas
Updating your home address and transferring your working region are two different processes.
GigSafe has a separate procedure for residential address changes.
Its documentation explains that changing an address may require support to reset the driver’s license and contract steps.
That process doesn’t replace the partner company’s responsibility for delivery market assignments.
Why Your Contracting Company Controls the Region
Delivery companies organize their operations around service areas, customer demand, available routes, and local requirements.
A contractor approved for one market isn’t necessarily authorized to accept assignments in every other market operated by the same company.
For example, a company may have sufficient drivers in one city but need additional contractors in another.
It may also impose different operational requirements for particular locations.
GigSafe maintains relevant contractor information, but the partner company makes the decisions about its own service areas.
Contact the Correct Support Team
If you want to transfer to another market, begin with the company that provides your delivery opportunities.
Explain your current working region and the area where you’d like to operate.
Ask whether the requested market is accepting contractors and whether any additional requirements apply.
Don’t assume GigSafe’s general support team can authorize the transfer.
GigSafe explicitly directs contractors to their partner company’s support team for market changes.
Your Existing Documents May Still Be Relevant
A market change doesn’t necessarily mean every onboarding requirement must be completed again.
Your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance may remain relevant.
However, different regions or assignments can have different requirements.
For example, moving to another state may involve different licensing or insurance considerations.
Ask your partner company whether additional documentation or verification is necessary.
Don’t upload replacement documents unless the relevant process requires them.
What If You’re Moving to Another State?
An interstate move can involve more than selecting a different delivery area.
Your residential address, driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance information may all require attention.
GigSafe’s support documentation provides separate procedures for changing certain completed onboarding information.
Some of those steps require assistance from a human support agent.
Coordinate the market transfer with your contracting company and handle document updates through the appropriate GigSafe procedures.
Don’t assume that completing one automatically finishes the other.
Don’t Create Another Contractor Profile
If your preferred market isn’t available in the portal, creating another account may seem like an alternative.
However, a duplicate profile doesn’t necessarily establish authorization to work in another region.
It can also complicate the information associated with your existing contractor relationship.
Instead, ask the partner company how market transfers are handled for current contractors.
Follow its instructions before attempting a new registration.
Ask for Confirmation Before Accepting Work
After requesting a market change, confirm whether the partner company has approved it.
Remember that GigSafe doesn’t display your assigned market in the contractor-facing portal.
That makes direct confirmation particularly important.
Ask the company whether your region has been updated and whether you’re eligible for assignments in the new area.
Don’t rely solely on a changed home address or updated profile details.
Explain Your Request Clearly
A useful message to your contracting company might include:
Platform: GigSafe Contractor Portal
Current market: Beaumont, Texas
Requested market: Houston, Texas
Reason: Relocation
Current contractor status: Onboarding completed
Question: Can my assigned delivery market be transferred, and are additional requirements necessary?
This gives the company enough context to review the request.
It’s more effective than contacting GigSafe about a missing market selection button.
Understand the Limits of Contractor Self-Service
GigSafe provides contractors with tools for completing onboarding requirements, managing certain profile information, and maintaining compliance documents.
But not every part of the contractor relationship is controlled through self-service.
Delivery market assignments are one example.
The contracting company controls the region, while GigSafe supports the underlying contractor management process.
If you want to change your delivery market in GigSafe, contact your partner company directly. The Contractor Portal doesn’t provide a self-service market switch, and your assigned region isn’t visible there. Confirm the transfer with the company before assuming you’re authorized to work in the new area.
